NDC Numbers – HELP
For those of you new to the industry. NDC Numbers is a term used quite often. The NDC stands for National Drug Code. The government uses these codes to regulate the transfer or sale of regulated substances.
These numbers must be applied to every prescription label as well as used for billing purposes with Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance companies.

I work for a health department and we administer vaccines and bill medicaid. I have found that ndc numbers for the vaccine are different depending on where you look, they are found on the box the vaccine comes in, paperwork, and the individual vial. It is the same vaccine but we do not know which ndc number is right for billing purposes. We are having trouble receiving payment. Thanks.
